Journey Accident Insurance
Accidents can happen during your commute between work and home. This coverage is called Journey Personal Accident Insurance.
In Australia, employees are insured under Workers Compensation for injuries at work. However, in several states, this does not cover injury while commuting to work and back.
To fill this gap in coverage and meet potential legal responsibilities to employees who may actively do work while commuting such as picking up the milk or the mail, an employer can purchase a Journey Personal Accident insurance.
Currently, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia do not provide coverage under Workers Compensation for Journey to and from work.
With access to insurers that can provide cost-competitive coverage, we offer a Journey Personal Accident policy that can cover this gap. Coverage includes a lump sum benefit for accidental or permanent disability, and for temporary disablement, employees can receive weekly benefits.
Also, subject to employer request and insurer agreement, we can obtain coverage for workers aged to 85, return to work assistance benefits, fractured bones benefits, tuition costs, funeral costs and other benefits.
