Standard wordings in the market require that the cyber attack be against the insured’s computer system. However, some businesses can be adversely affected when there is a cyber attack on a supplier’s system (e.g. the data is saved to the cloud and the attack is on the cloud provider’s system). You can cover this exposure under an optional cover commonly called Contingent Business Interruption.
